Trail Ride

Distance - 22

After a decade of anticipation, these two iconic and nationally recognized trails will be connected. What better way to celebrate than with a scenic bike ride.
Join us in celebrating this milestone with a day of fun and community spirit on the trails!

The long awaited link between the High Trestle Trail and Raccoon River Valley Trail is finally complete! The extension (in blue on the map) connects multiple regional trails and creates two loops — one 86 miles with a spur to Jefferson, and the other a massive 118 miles — putting Iowa towns on the map for outdoor recreation.

We’re feeling especially celebratory as this realizes a dream that’s been alive at INHF since the late 1980s, connecting rail-trails we are proud to have helped create.

INHF's latest role in bringing the High Trestle Trail and Raccoon River Valley Trail together included our acquisition and transfer of the last connecting piece to Dallas County Conservation Board in 2022.

We're excited to cheer them on at their ribbon cutting in Bouton on August 17, 1 p.m.
