Neither the Canadian wildfires nor the scattered storms could stop nearly 80 golfers from participating in the 2nd Annual Greater Dallas County Development Alliance Golf Outing to raise money for the Dallas County Conservation Board. The event was held on Wednesday, June 28 at the River Valley Golf Course and generated $6,000 in proceeds.
This year’s event was sponsored by Adel Partners Chamber of Commerce. Other sponsors included Bolton & Menk, Impact 7G, Kwik Star, Van Meter Community Foundation, Waukee Chamber of Commerce and the York Companies.
These funds will assist in completing the Raccoon River Valley Trail to High Trestle Trail Connector Project. DCCB is in the process of constructing the next to the last phase of this project now in 2023. The final phase will be completed in 2024.
“It is donations such as this that help the Dallas County Conservation Board provide high quality, diverse and important quality of life projects, activities and facilities for public use,” DCCB Director Mike Wallace said.
