The Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa will kick off on July 22 and continue through July 29.

Over the course of the week, riders will cycle 500 miles through the Hawkeye State. This year will be the 50th annual ride.

"It's pretty humbling that a bike with no motor and my legs can get me across Iowa," said Brad Allen, who will be riding in his 6th RAGBRAI this year.

RAGBRAI has released the overall route map, but the turn-by-turn route for several cities, including Des Moines, Altoona and Ankeny, has yet to be posted.
