Hundreds of bicycleriders gathered Saturday in front of the Hotel Pattee in Perry to take off for Rippey,45 years after the first annual Bike Ride to Rippey.
“Nobody would have thought back then that we would still be going strong like this,”Jim Hurley, of Ames, said of the 24-milewinter ride from Perry to Rippey and back.
Hurley is the son of BRR co-founder Dennis Hurley,who now lives in Beaverdale. Hestarted BRR with Jim Walstrom.
