Iowa’s first shotgun deer season opens this weekend!
BE CAREFUL if you ride on or near conservation land, timber, open fields during hunting seasons. This can be on-road, off-road, dirt, double-track or even riding gravel. We all share the land and bullets don't need to be part of our training plan. We tagged all the Mountain bike trails, but realize there are many other places that cyclists ride that can be in or near to hunting areas.
An estimated 120,000 hunters participate in the shotgun seasons, harvesting about half of the total number of deer for the year. The goal is to harvest 100,000 to 120,000 this season. That is a LOT of hunters out there!
BE EXTRA CAREFUL on the open days especially with this year of Covid-19 with everyone being cooped up.
