The Dream Team, the public service project that provides youths from challenging backgrounds a chance to ride the Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa and earn a bike — and a lifetime supply of self confidence — is bigger than ever this year. And Wednesday it's going nationwide.

That's when the group's executive director, Scott Matter, and current Dream Team members Jeremiah Wright and Ennovy Ellison will appear on NBC Universal's "The Kelly Clarkson Show" to introduce the organization and its mission to the show's national audience.

Andy Cohen, best known for his Bravo talk show "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," filled in for Clarkson on the episode, which will air at 3 p.m. Wednesday on Des Moines' KCCI and the Cedar Rapids-Iowa City area's KGAN.

The show averages 1.2 million viewers per day and appears on more than 200 TV stations across the U.S. It will give the Dream Team its largest audience yet to spread the word about its mission, Matter said.

"This is a chance to shine attention on a national level on what this program does," he said. "We hope that some people out there will replicate this program everywhere."
