Trail Ride

Distance - 20-ish miles

On April 15th, join the Des Moines Park and Recreation Department for the 2017 Mayor’s Annual Ride and Run for Trails (MARR). RAGBRAI, BIKE WORLD, and The Des Moines Register continue as co-sponsors of the event, and Mayor Frank Cownie will lead the ride assisted by The Register’s own Dream Team.  In addition to the ride, the Parks and Recreation Department will once again offer a 5k run/walk to the day’s events.  Proceeds for both events will go towards trail improvement and maintenance.


BIKE WORLD COUPON - All adult participants receive a $20 Bike World coupon and are automatically entered into a drawing to win a Momentum brand bike valued at $620, donated by Bike World.

The drawing for the "Momentum" bike, donated by Bike World, will take place at 1pm, Saturday 4/15 at The Hub Spot (215 Water St, Des Moines, IA 50309). Participants do not have to be present to win

Over 18 years - $30 per adult before April 15 and $40 per Adult on the day of the event.  Registration includes:  refreshments, sag support, entry into the drawing, $20 Bike World coupon, and a repair van. 

Ages 5-18 - $5

Children less than 5 years old - FREE

Registration completed before April 2 is guaranteed to include a t-shirt, refreshments at the rest stop, post-ride meal at The Hub Spot, sag support, and the repair van.

Packet Pick up: Packets will be available the week of April 10-14 at 1551 E. Martin Luther King Jr. PKWY from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

On-Site Registration:  Saturday, April 15 from 7:00 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at 1551 E. Martin Luther King Jr. PKWY.
