History of the Trail

The trail follows a former stagecoach route between Bradgate and Rutland. All of its 36 railway bridges remain intact and are part of the trail. (Per INHF)

The trail occupies an old Chicago and North Western Railway right-of-way preserved through railbanking in the early 1990s.
