The Lake Anita Trail is a delightful four mile loop around the namesake lake in Lake Anita State Park. There's also a spur into the town of Anita. It's a bit hilly here, so bring your climbing legs. That said, the views make the extra effort more than worthwhile. This is a very picturesque place. It's quiet except on the busiest weekends. You'll see a lot of wildlife and have the opportunity to reconnect with nature while you're here!
Location - Where is this Trail?
Lake Anita State Park is lcoated just south of the town of Anita, Iowa.
There are several trailheads in the state park, or you can park right on Main Street and head south a few blocks on Michigan Avenue. The trail is on the right just after the Turkey Creek crossing.
