City planners have begun preparing to host thousands of bicyclists following the announcement that Carroll would be featured as an overnight stop on the 2023 RAGBRAI route.
Mayor Mark Beardmore said being featured on the RAGBRAI route is a huge opportunity for Carroll, both to bring more exposure to the city and traffic through local businesses.
“This is just a fabulous opportunity for Carroll to showcase itself and our wonderful people and our wonderful community,” Beardmore said. “I mean, it’s beyond awesome.”
Beardmore said while Carroll’s census population is around 10,000, it is also said that Carroll doubles in size during the workday.
