The annual Bike Ride to Rippey, or BRR ride, will roll on for its 46th year on Saturday, Feb. 4.
The ride will go on regardless of weather, though Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti said they will make adjustments if it’s dangerous to be out and about. Last year’s ride kicked off with temperatures in the low 20s while the 2021 ride featured a high of 9 degrees and wind chills dipping to minus 10.
“That’s part of the fun of it and the uniqueness of the ride,” Pasutti said. “With it being a long-standing tradition, it’s kind of a rite of passage to have that experience to have that extra challenge of the weather. And others (come out) only if it’s really, really nice. Everywhere in between, we’ll welcome everyone.”
The 24-mile ride from Perry to Rippey and back also serves as the Perry Chamber’s biggest fundraiser of the year.
