Changes are having to be made to the 2021 RAGBRAI route after at least one city decided to back out of hosting the annual bike ride across Iowa.
A note posted on the City of Storm Lake website the community was excited to have been chosen as an overnight stop, there are many hurdles and unknowns that have to faced due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic make planning and fundraising for the event very difficult.
City leaders and the RAGBRAI Advisory Board also cite concerns with having adequate housing for riders because of many residents being reluctant to hot riders in private homes of school facilities.
