The Friends of the High Trestle Trail are encouraging memorial contributions to build picnic table shelters at Madrid’s Dalander Park main trailhead.
They installed one this summer and it proved to be derecho proof!
There are over a dozen picnic tables where these canopies are needed.
The cost for one picnic table shelters is $2600 and is a tax deductible donation via the city of Madrid.
It includes a memorial plaque honoring a loved one.

The Friends of the High Trestle Trail is a volunteer group that advocates improvements to the High Trestle Trail. Membership is $20.00 per year. Meetings are the first Thursday of each month, 6:30 p.m. at the Madrid Community Room on Water Street (next to the fire station).
