Register for the 2019 Mayor's Annual Ride and Run on Saturday, April 20 and your contribution will help fund construction of the Carl Voss Trail (fna Des Moines River Trail) – Phase 2.
New this year, the event will kick-off at Principal Park (1 Line Drive) with a breakfast from 8:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. The 5K run and 1-mile family fun walk starts at 9 a.m., featuring a route inside the stadium and shown live on the videoboard. Mayor Frank Cownie will lead the 22-mile ride, which leaves the park at 10 a.m.
Each participant will be entered into a drawing for a $600 bike, donated by Bike World
“Packet Pick Up” starts at 8:00 am.
“Day of Registration” is $50 so register online and help give back to the trails you love so much.
Registration fees are $35.00 per adult before April 19 and $50.00 on site the day of the event. Youth ages 5-18 are $5 and children 4 and younger are free.
Registration includes an insulated water bottle, refreshments at the rest stop and a repair van by Bike World. For an additional $5, participants can enter both events. Sign up online at dmparks.org and help sustain one of Des Moines’ most popular and treasured amenities, the trail system.
