Mapleton begins preparation for RAGBRAI in July

There have been three RAGBRAI meetings held thus far and the community has begun making plans for the bike riders who will be arriving in Mapleton on Sunday, July 25.
The estimated 10,000 bikers will be coming into town in the morning and departing in early afternoon. The committee, spearheaded by Donna Shaw and Mike Lyon, will be entertaining the participants in the city park.
Several committees have already formed and chairpersons have been chosen. They are: Food/Beverage, Pete Christophersen and Chuck Ferris; Medical, Dave Schmidt; Setup and Youth Involvement, Steve Oberg; Sanitation, Jack Seuntjens; Brochures, Info, Promotion and Signs, Ed Maier and Keith Robinson; Crowd Management andWater, City Employees and Entertainment, MV Music Boosters-Tyler Harper.
