It’s not your typical bike ride, in fact, this one, is pretty quiet.

People from all over North Iowa are participating in the eighth annual Ride for Silence in Mason City Wednesday night.

It’s gathering lots of folks into central park to honor those who have died while cycling.

And for Jeffery Wilson, this event hits very close to home.

“Last year I was out riding in late afternoon about 7pm, when I got hit at an intersection so this became a little bit more meaningful,” said Wilson.

More than 360 rides were scheduled nationwide.

Those taking part in Mason City rode for twelve miles
