Breedlove Memorial Ride Saturday

Join the riders of the Des Moines Cycle Club and friends of “Dr. Bob” Breedlove on Saturday June 23rd at 6 p.m. as we remember his life on the anniversary of his tragic death. “Dr. Bob” was a well-known central-Iowa orthopedic surgeon and bicycle activist who died while participating in the Race Across America. We will celebrate his life and impact on not only the biking community but all those he came in contact with. The ride will begin at the Izaac Walton League north of Park Avenue on George MIlls Parkway with a reflections and comments by those who knew him best. Bikers will then head toward Cumming on the Great Western Bike Trail, one of Bob’s favorite training ride trails for a ride of reflection to the memory of “Dr. Bob Breedlove”. Jack Mathews
