While it's no longer possible to ride the Tour de France as a part of Lance Armstrong's professional cycling squad, you can join Team LIVESTRONG as we head to Iowa with him for RAGBRAI Jul 22-28,2007! We're going to the Hawkeye State to spread the word about making cancer a national priority, and simply put:
we want you to come along for the ride!
This is your opportunity to join 10,000 riders as they challenge themselves to 60-70 miles of riding per day, great camaraderie (and pie!) as the people of Iowa open their hearts and towns to the cycling community. RAGBRAI is a tremendous experience in itself, but to be able to take that opportunity and turn it into something truly special in the fight against cancer, even better!
What you need to know:
- Team LIVESTRONG will be comprised of 100 riders
- RAGBRAI is a 7-day, 472 mile bike ride across the state of Iowa from west to east
- Each rider must raise a minimum of $1,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation. This amount includes the $125 entry fee for RAGBRAI and one LIVESTRONG cycling jersey
Important logistical info:
All riders will be responsible for:
- Their own transportation to and from the event
- All lodging, however "Camp LIVESTRONG" will be a focal point for those wishing to camp in and around the LAF rolling venue. Camping is free for the entire event.
- Their own food. Camp LIVESTRONG will be stocked with on-the-ride energy food / hydration and will host team get togethers at each evening site.
Riders' baggage will be handled through the RAGBRAI logistical system.
