2006 IMBCS schedule update
Thu January 19 2006

As I had mentioned in my first announcement of the 2006 IMBCS schedule, there may be a few additions to the series. The board members of IORCA are happy to announce the addition of two more events to the schedule. The first new event is a joint venture with the I-74 Homegrown Series (based in Illinois). The Sylvan Island Stampede is the name of the event, and will be held on Sunday, April 9. Race info can be found at www.qcforc.org and www.pambamtb.org. The second new event is a joint venture with the Psycowpath Series (based in Nebraska) and will be at the Lewis and Clark monument in Council Bluffs, IA. This event will be on Saturday, May 20. Information regarding the Psycowpath Series can be found at www.Nebraskacycling.org. The folks at Singletrack Promotions also decided to move the IMBCS date at Seven Oaks from July 30 to Sunday, April 16 (with April 23 being a rain date). This was done to avoid the conflict with the 24 hour NORBA Nationals being held at Nine Mile Forest in Wisconsin. The revised schedule is as follows: April 9 – IMBCS #1 – Sylvan Island, IL April 16 – IMBCS #2 – Seven Oaks Ski Area, near Boone, IA (April 23 rain date) May 7 - IMBCS #3 - Camp Ingawanis, Waverly, IA May 20 – IMBCS #4 – Lewis and Clark Monument, Council Bluffs, IA June 4 - IMBCS #5 - Geode State Park, near Lowell, IA June 17/18 - IMBCS #6, 7 - stage race at Sockum Ridge State Park, near Washington, IA June 25 - IMBCS #8 - Kendall Young Classic, Webster City, IA July 2 - IORCA / Iowa NORBA State Championship, Seven Oaks Ski Area, Boone, IA July 15 - IORCA Iowa Games MTB, Peterson Pits, near Ames, IA July 22 - IORCA 12 Hours of Cedar Valley August 13 - IMBCS #9 - Sugarbottom Rec Area, North Liberty, IA September 2/3 - IORCA 24 Hours of Seven Oaks September 10 - IMBCS #10 - Sycamore TT, Des Moines, IA September 23/24 - IMBCS #11, 12 - stage race at Seven Oaks, Boone, IA Race information for each individual race will come a little later. I will also post race director contact info later on. I also want remind everyone about the 2006 edition of the IORCA / IMBCS business meeting will be held Saturday, January 21, 7pm at Rasmussen Bike Shop.
Rasmussen Bike Shop
301 Grand Ave. West Des Moines, IA The majority of the discussion will be about rule changes for 2006. The floor will also be open for any other topics regarding mountain bike racing in Iowa. If there is something that you would like to see changed, this is your chance to be heard! Cam Kirkpatrick V.P. IORCA Urbandale, IA
