Team Butt Ice

Ahh, it's a new year and what a better way to bring in the new year than post up a new PROFILE for the Butt Icers! I've been riding with them off an on for 10 years and it's good to see them still going strong! BIKEIOWA is proud to present the first profile for 2007. For now, the January Profile will follow the same set of base questions answers with a gallery of pictures.

This month's profile features Team Butt Ice

Ames, IA The first network of Team Butt Ice members was formed through the Iowa State University Cycling Club, the rest through ISU and friends of friends. A majority of Butt Ice is still in Central Iowa, thought members are know living on both coasts and in Europe.
  • The Scoop

Butt Ice was ingeniously inspired from the audacious graphics from the marginal Budweiser product "Bud Ice". Academic liberties were taken as we carefully plagiarized their brand in the form a ridiculous parody. It's literally an acronym for "Bicyclists united to travel Iowa's Cycling Experience."
  • Who's Who

Web Wilke: Team Captain, Co-Founder and Chief Offender of Women Dan Huisenga: "Lieutenant Dan" or LT (eltee) Co-founder and the guy who makes it all happen. Carol Williams: She's been there from the start and makes everybody smile. Patty Huisenga: Our "Team 70's goddess", her son showed us a bikini photo of her in the 70's and it stuck. Dan Davis: Affectionately known as D2. Our resident cynic and smooth legged fast guy. Dan helps keep the old guys young through intimidation. Dave VanderWiel: Former President of ISU Cycling Club turned grumpy scientist. You can turn Dave up buy challenging to turn him down. Michael Faas: Formerly known as the quintessential Butt Icer but lost his rallying skills during a Quadra-Bike ride.
