RACE INFO The Des Moines Dirty Duathlon is an off-road adventure for trail runners and mountain bikers at the Center Trails. A first-of-its-kind event on the metro's premier singletrack trail system in Des Moines' Greenwood and Ashworth Parks. The race is presented by www.IowaDiscountHomes.com and hosted by Capital Striders and Central Iowa Trail Association. The race starts at noon on Sunday, Nov. 5 and regististration is open now at bikeiowa.com through Oct. 31. Note that there is a relay category for those who don't run (or don't mountain bike). So, find a buddy or meet some who complements your skills at the bikeiowa.com forums. The event will put racers through more than 11 miles of mountain biking and 4 miles of running on narrow, dirt trails winding through the woods near Walnut Creek. The race is a non-profit venture supporting trail development in central Iowa.
