Celebrate the Des Moines trails this weekend - September 23-24. Rides will be held for all types of cyclists!

The Des Moines area boasts one of the best trails networks in the nation. Celebrate all that this area has to offer by participating in one of several Trail Daze bike rides that have been scheduled for the weekend of September 23-24. Fall is a beautiful time to be on your bike! Beaverdale to Farmer’s Market & Back: September 23 (8 a.m. – noon) 20-mile ride begins at 2929 Merle Hay Road. Route includes the Inter Urban Trail to Pat Dorian Trail to Downtown. Free ride ends back in Beaverdale for the Annual Fall Celebration. 1st Annual Beaverdale Bike Ride: September 23 (10 a.m. – All Day) 25-mile ride begins at 4801 Franklin Ave. Route includes Beaverdale Fall Festival Parade to Neil Smith Trail to Dam. $20 ride ends back in Beaverdale. Register on-site at AK O’Connors in Beaverdale at 8 a.m. Pre-registration not requested. T-shirts available on first come basis. Carousel Family Ride: September 23 (Post-Beaverdale Parade - approx. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.) Approx 5-7 miles. Meet at 'Grounds for Celebration' following Fall Festival Parade Ride your bike, then ride a wooden horse at Heritage Carousel in Union Park Bring a picnic lunch!Bike trailers, tag-alongs, and bikes with training wheels welcome. Baggers Wine & Cheese Ride: September 23 (Post-Beaverdale Parade to afternoon) 20-30 mile ride begins at 4050 Urbandale Ave. Route includes the Inter-Urban Trail to Saylorville Trail. Free ride ends back in Beaverdale. Bring your own wine and cheese! Gray’s Lake to Beaverdale & Back: September 23 (9 a.m. – noon) 20-mile ride begins at Gray’s Lake trail head. Route includes the Downtown Farmer’s Market, Pat Dorian Trail, Beaverdale Fall Festival. Free ride ends back at Gray’s Lake. Psycho Cycle Scramble: September 24 (1 p.m.) Team scavenger hunt bike ride, with camera, that requires basic knowledge of Des Moines geography.
