Snowdown Showdown Series (S3) Info
There are three events, the Raccoon River Rage,
Waveland Whiteout and the Brown Deer Bone-Chiller. Each event has four
race categories: Snow Shoe, Classic Cross-Country Ski, Skate
Cross-Country Ski and Fat Bike.
To compete in
the series, racers must participate in the same race at all three
events. Results will be determined by the racer’s cumulative times.
Series champions will be crowned at the final event.
Raccoon River Rage
Date: Jan 10th, 2015 (make-up date: Jan 24th, 2015)
Location: Booneville, IA
Race Categories: Fat Bike, Classic Cross-Country Ski, Skate Ski and Snow Shoe - each category has a long and short race
Cost: For all categories - Long ($35) Short ($30)
Description:
The
Raccoon River Rage is the first race in the Snowdown Showdown Series.
Racers can ski, snow shoe, or fat bike. Want to make a day of it?
Participate in as many as 4 races! Each additional race is just 5
bucks.
The Snowdown Showdown Series is
three separate events. (Raccoon River Rage, Waveland Whiteout, &
Brown Deer Bone-Chiller) To compete in the series, racers must
participate in the same race at all three events. Results will be
determined by the racer's cumulative times. Series champions will be
crowned at the final event.
This unique event
takes place on the frozen Raccoon River. Stoney and the good folks at
the Booneville Bar & Grill in Booneville, IA will be our hosts. The
Raccoon River Rage will definitely be one-of-a-kind.
Waveland Whiteout
Date: Jan 31st, 2015 (make-up date: Feb 21st, 2015)
Location: Waveland Golf Course - Des Moines, IA
Race Categories: Fat Bike, Classic Cross-Country Ski, Skate Ski and Snow Shoe - each category has a long and short race
Cost: For all categories - Long ($35) Short ($30)

The event takes
place on the Waveland Golf Course in Des Moines, Iowa. Notorious for its
hills, the Waveland will be one of the more difficult venues in the
series.
Brown Deer Bone-Chiller
Date: Feb 14th, 2015 (make-up date: Feb 28th, 2015)
Location: Brown Deer Golf Club - Coralville, IA
Race Categories: Fat Bike, Classic Cross-Country Ski, Skate Ski and Snow Shoe - each category has a long and short race

Bone-Chiller will be another hilly, but scenic race venue. The race
courses will lead you up, down and around the beautiful Brown Deer Golf
Club.
