It is no wonder why the Cedar Valley Trails Festival is Iowa’s Tourism Attraction of the Year!
The Cedar Falls / Waterloo area has established itself as an exciting destination for trails. With over 110 miles of
hard-surfaced trails to ride, the trails have truly been incorporated into the community lining the
Cedar River, looping around lakes, crossing streams, connecting to both
downtown entertainment districts, historic museums, hotels, restaurants
and bars. In fact, it was the first Bicycle Friendly Community recognized in Iowa by the American League of Bicyclists in 2009.
BIKEIOWA attended this festival last year and had a great time as we rode some new trails, checked out the local bike shops, businesses and watering holes. A true Iowa Cycling Destination!
BIKEIOWA is super-proud to have the Cedar Valley Trail System as a Premier Sponsor, and we think other communities should use their marketing strategies as a model of success!

Over 110 miles of hard-surfaced trails are configured in a series of
loops, winding through Black Hawk County, Iowa and the metropolitan
areas of Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Evansdale, Hudson, and La Porte City.
These paths offer a variety of experiences ranging from peaceful woods
along lakes and streams, to entertainment, dining, shops and bars in
vibrant historic downtowns.
The Cedar Valley Trails system is an extensive network that connects to northern Cedar Rapids via the Cedar Valley Nature Trail -- the nation's very first rail trail. The Cedar Valley recreational trails system sets us apart from most other communities and was recognized as Iowa's Outstanding Tourism Attraction for 2012.
