CVAST showcases local mountain biking trial with tasty New Belgium brews afterwards.

Mulligan’s Brick Oven Grill & Pub with the assistance of the Cedar Valley Association for Soft Trails (CVAST), Bike Tech and New Belgium Brewery have partnered to create a very unique event for bike and beer lovers: The Fat Tire Ride Series “Tap Takeover”. On July 14, 2012.

The ride will provide the attendees with a mountain bike ride and road ride option. The brewery will bring 18+ New Belgium beers on tap featuring this year Lips of Faith series, which are only found in Colorado. There will be a lot of prizes donated by New Belgium Brewery for registered cyclists and the opportunity to win one of New Belgium's signature bicycles at the August Bike Giveaway Party. Registration for the ride will start at 1:00pm, and the ride will depart from Mulligan’s at 2:00pm.

The mountain bike group ride will showcase the soft trails in George Wyth State Park and Hartman Reserve. CVAST members will serve as your guides during the 12 mile mountain bike ride. Also, the Cedar Valley Cyclists will lead the road group ride that will take you through our vast Cedar Valley Trail system and bicycling routes in the metro area for your enjoyment. Both rides will not leave any rider left behind, and will regroup in key areas to ensure that the group stays together. Helmets are required to participate for these rides.

The intention of the series of bicycle rides is to create awareness of our local soft trails and give our trail users the opportunity to socialize with others while enjoying our great Cedar Valley Trail system.
