THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED. STAY TUNED FOR A NEW DATE ANNOUNCEMENT SOON!
Join us with Surly Brewing Company on May 16, 2015 at El Bait Shop in downtown Des Moines for the first annual Pedal for Pints Bike Tour. The ride starts and ends at El Bait shop, and offers distances of 30 and 50 miles. (Technically its 32 and 51 but hey, we are cyclists and beer drinkers, not accountants) Both routes feature Des Moines’ beautiful bike trails and about as much variety of terrain Des Moines has to offer.
This is an open course, so all riders must obey all traffic laws. All riders are required to wear a helmet while riding, and some riders may be asked to keep it on while drinking.
One rest stop on the 30 mile route and two on the 50 mile route will ensure you stay fueled up during the ride so you can arrive back at El Bait Shop ready for the real fun.
After the ride, rehydrate with a free pint of Surly’s award winning beers and nosh on some of El Bait Shop’s delicious appetizers and entrees.
Registration for this one of a kind event includes a T-Shirt, refreshments along the route, a free pint of Surly Beer, a map, and other miscellaneous goodies.
Route map can be found here. The 30 mile route is an out and back to the rest stop.
