The 2015 IMBCS Series heads next to Center Trails in Des Moines for a unique event Center Trails have not been used as part of the series for quite a few years, but the last time they were it was for a Time Trial. I thought it was time to bring that event back in a big, and longer duration sort of way.

Course Description

Hin und Zurück is German for “there and back.” That’s right. This IMBCS TT race will be on the Center Trails in the form of a time trial where everyone takes off one at a time in pre-determined intervals. Everyone will ride “Hin”—or over “there.” Once everyone has ridden “Hin”—or over “there”—they will ride “Zurück”— or back—from over “there” to where they started. The two combined times of “Hin und Zurück” (there and back) will be added together for one’s overall finishing time.

Categories, Start Times, and Distances

Racers will be sent off one at a time with 30 seconds between each rider both for the “Hin” and for the “Zurück.” Standard IMBCS categories will be used. Start times and distance to be determined. First race at 11:00 a.m.

Additional Information

• Once the TT racing is complete, we will stick with the German theme by having grilled brats, beer, music, and all the trimmings.
• Race proceeds will be used to help launch the IMBCS Capital Campaign for the development of the series going forward.
• Rain Date: August 9

Route

City approved route that will start in the Greenwood Park area, and the "Hin" portion will end on the south side of Walnut Creek. Then we reverse direction, and head "Zurück" back to the Greenwood Park area where we started. TBA on utilizing the new section of singletrack that CITA is building in the Spring of 2015.
