The 2015 IMBCS Series is excited to head next to yet another brand new venue for our series - Peterson Pits Recreation Area just outside of Ames, Iowa. IMBCS is pleased to announce a partnership with Iowa Games for our 2015 season. This partnership is committed to providing opportunities to Iowans of all abilities to race their mountain bikes.
Kyle Sedore, along with Iowa Games, and Bike Iowa will host the June 28th race which promises to provide some much needed variety in our 2015 season. Cross country racing on approximately 5 miles of technical single track with curves and drops. The trails at Peterson Park also consist of rolling hills, open fields, and sand. Multiple laps will be used for different categories. The number of laps will be determined the day of the event according to trail conditions.
This course is beginner friendly. If you have been thinking about trying out a mountain biking race, this is the perfect course to give it a go. For everyone else - don't be fooled by the beginner friendly label, as there are plenty of challenges for the experienced racer to grind it out full throttle through the singletrack, over the multi-use trails, cutting through the sand, and sprinting on the gravel connector sections. By the end of the race one can bank on being totally spent from racing full throttle.
This is our official bring a friend to a mountain bike race event. Start working on that friend to get them prepared and ready to try the sport of racing out.
