Trail Ride

Distance - 25- miles or as long or as short as you want!

This is not a "ride" but come and celebrate the official opening of the High Trestle Trail by visiting one of the five communities along the trail and get your HTT passport stamped along the way. "Discover a new view," the day's theme, applies to the view from the 13-story bridge on the final section of trail to be completed between Madrid and Woodward. It also applies to discoveries awaiting trail users in the communities along the trail. Folks are expected from throughout the region. Wear your team jersey or your towns HTT T-shirt.

This event is more than just another trail opening. The completion of the High Trestle Trail - linking to 670-miles of Central Iowa trails with more on the drawing board - offers an unprecedented opportunity to claim Iowa's place as the World Capital of Trails, with central Iowa as its hub.

Route

Ankeny, Madrid, Sheldahl, Slater and Woodward - in Polk, Story, Boone and Dallas counties.
