Road Ride Ground Rules:
- First and foremost, we are here to build a community of skilled cyclists. Be willing to mentor and learn. There is no such thing as a dumb question.
- Don’t cross the center yellow line, ever. If the road is packed and the rider in front of you is slower, grab a brake lever; Never cross the center line. This behavior endangers yourself and everybody else on the ride. We can’t stress enough how unsafe and uncool it is to do this.
Don’t push the pace. There are plenty of hammerhead rides in town for that; this isn’t one of them. If you find yourself ahead of the designated ride leader(s), check your speed. Remember: NO DROP is the goal.
We do regroups at designated spots, waiting for those we’ve misplaced (for a few minutes). If you struggle holding 14mph, this may not be the ride for you.
This is a road ride, not a party ride. Leave the headphones and stereo systems at home. The sound of bikes rolling without other noises is really quite enjoyable, and more importantly, allows for communication of the ever changing conditions.
The members of ride are encouraged to remind each other about the rules if they see anyone who’s not in the know.
