The 22 mile, 2024 Des Moines Mayor's Annual Ride for Trails, took place on Sat, May 4th. The weather that morning was a little dicey, but the start was rain-free!

THANKS to Des Moines Parks and Recreation, Iowa Bicycle Coalition, Street Collective, Captain Roy's and SingleSpeed Brewing Co. for making this trail-fundraising event a success!

Join us on Saturday, May 4, as we roll through the heart of Des Moines for the much-anticipated 2024 Mayor's Annual Ride, hosted by Des Moines Parks and Recreation!

Pedal alongside our bike ride loving, Mayor Pro-Tem, Carl Voss! 

It's not just a ride; it's a chance to kick off the season while supporting our trail system. 

Your participation helps fund the trails that both residents and guests of DSM enjoy year-round. 

PRIZES

Plus, here's an extra incentive: you could win $300 in gift certificates toward a shiny new bike courtesy of BIKEIOWA and Des Moines Street Collective! Don't miss out on this family-friendly event. 

WHAT DO THE PROCEEDS GO TOWARD?

The funds raised by this event will go to funding Art Corridors and other projects along our trails!

REST STOPS

There will be TWO bicycle-friendly rest stops on route this year!

Both places are A+ hang-out spots for cyclists. Be sure to stop at both as the Mayor's Ride is not a race  ;)

• Captain Roy's - a little past the half-way point (1900 Saylor Rd)

New for 2024 - there is a new "I Support the Trails" registration option which is $15.

With this option, you don't get any swag, but you can still champion this beloved tradition!
OR, if you cannot make the ride and still want to give... you can still use this option and your support ensures the event's continuation.

Adult Ride: $35 per adult before May 4 | $50 on-site
Youth Ride: $5 for ages 5 through 17 | Children 4&U ride free

Your adult registration fee covers a commemorative t-shirt, a chance to win a free bike, refreshments at a rest stop, and the joy of cycling with fellow enthusiasts. Youth registration fee does not include a t-shirt. 

NEW for 2024:
Opt for the $15 "I Support" registration option if you're a minimalist or simply wish to champion this beloved tradition without participating in the ride. Your support ensures the event's continuation!
