The 20-Mile Bike Ride will start at Principal Park (1 Line Drive) and will go Lake to Lake - traveling from Gray's Lake to Easter Lake prior to ending back at the stadium. The 4-Mile Run and the 1-Mile Family Fun Walk will start at Principal Park (1 Line Drive) with the route consisting of downtown trails. The run will begin at 8 a.m., allowing time to hop on a bike for the ride for just an additional $5.
The funds raised by this event will go to funding Fix-It Stations along our trails!
Fix-It Stations provide an increased and enhanced level of service to our trail users and support transportation and mobility options and outdoor recreation. Flat tires and loose fasteners are bound to happen when using a bicycle. With the availability of appropriate tools and knowledge, bicyclists can use the city's growing number of bicycle maintenance stations to help maintain their bicycle when utilizing the Des Moines trail system.
MARR registration (Adult Ride registration, Adult Run registration, or Adult Ride + Run registration) automatically enters each participant registering for the Mayor’s Annual Ride Drawing. On September 18, 2021, a random drawing from among all eligible entries received will be conducted under the supervision of the City of Des Moines to award the prize of: A Bike World Giant Contend 3 with an estimated retail value of $775.
