This is the "official" Global Fat Bike Day Ride for Des Moines (and anyone else who wants to show up). We will meet at the Lakeview Boat Ramp on the SW side of Saylorville Reservoir for a shoreline ride.

This is a group ride with randomly determined regroup points.

We'll work our way east across the face of the dam, and then head north along the east side of the lake. We will break off of the shoreline near Sandpiper Boat ramp and work our way into Polk City on the paved trail to stop and grab some food and beverages somewhere (Papas Pizzeria, Waters Edge Bar and Grill, or Reising Sun Cafe are possibilities).

Afterwards, we can either ride the shoreline back, or head back on the paved trail (or BOTH!)

Bring your bike, spares, the right clothing, and a good attitude (a fender would be a good idea too :) ). Expect to have a lot of fun, but expect it to be some work. We're riding in sand and rock. I've tried to verify that the shoreline is rideable, but it's possible you will be pushing your bike, your bike will get wet and dirty, or we may have to turn around before we get to Sandpiper. Embrace the adventure. :)
