Here it is! The ride you have been waiting for... THE FIRECRACKER RIDE!
Last year we took the year off. This year we are bringing it back on Saturday, July 6!
The route will include a rolling start from Iowa Falls to The Westside in Alden for breakfast and drinks. They open at 8:30 a.m. Head that way any time you want, to get your day and ride started. We will plan on leaving The Westside at 11 a.m. (ish). We will plan on an Oasis Stop at Flowing Well Park south of Alden. Three Days in Owasa will be opening early for us at 1:00 p.m. Additional stops along the route will include Happenings in Steamboat Rock, The Wellsburg Tap, Grumpy's in Ackley, and back to Iowa Falls (with the potential for additional oasis stops along the way).
I am planning for the ride to include Wellsburg as a stop, to make the total mileage around 66 - great RAGBRAI training. Appropriate mileage if we bypass Wellsburg is 53.

The ride is held the weekend of the Riverbend Rally in Iowa Falls. There will be a beverage garden and entertainment in Iowa Falls Saturday night, and probably live music at the 503 in Iowa Falls that night as well.
Overnight options are available. Look for the FB event and post a message if looking for overnight options, or join the Green Belt Bikers Facebook page and post a message there.
We will also be hosting the Bill Riley Ride from Iowa Falls to Alden and back on the afternoon and evening of Tuesday, July 2. The Riverbend Rally 5K and 8K road races will also be held the morning of Thursday, July 4. All three events are coordinated by the Hardin County Recreational Trails Committee.
The Firecracker Ride will be co-hosted by TEAM LOVE SHACK.
