The Comet Trail connects the towns of Beaman and Conrad, Iowa with the Wolf Creek Trail in Tama County and continues on into Gladbrook.
Have ridden the trail a couple of times this spring and each time the trail has been in great shape. Plenty of wildlife, a nice mix of prairie remnants, woodlands and small rural communities.
Both trails have a surface of packed crushed limestone, with the exception of a couple sections of the Wolf Creek Trail which are now paved following some flood damage back in 2008.
There's places to stop in each town to grab a bite or refreshments.
The Comet Trail also has a spur into Wolf Creek Recreation Area, a popular place to camp. The park has mutiple shelters, restroom facilities, water, etc.
