Sam Strawhacker has done plenty of bicycle racing in his life, everything from road races to criteriums to gravel races.
The Cobble Climb at the Snake Alley Criterium in downtown Burlington is one the Mediapolis native had never attempted.
That is until Saturday.
Strawhacker decided it was time to give the race a try and, much to his surprise, he came out the winner in the challenging two-block race up Cobblestone Alley.
“It’s a local thing put on by Nick’s Cycling. I thought about doing it for a while, but I never actually did it. I thought why not this year?” Strawhacker said.
