Lee County Conservation Board awarded Jones Contracting the bid for the Pollmiller Trail project.
Jones Contracting, based in West Point, bid the project at $329,777. The only other bid was from JJD Contracting (Fort Madison), for $334,009.15
The board’s consultant said he went through both bids and checked all of the math and didn’t find any errors. The board has worked with Jones before, he said, and have had no issues. The award is contingent on Jones providing proof of insurance.
