Lee County Conservation has received a $150,000 Land and Water Conservation grant, which will be used for the Pollmiller trail project.
With the grant, the Lee County Conservation Board approved proceeding with a bidding process for the project.
Earlier in the year, to show support for the project, the board dedicated $100,000 out of the LCCB trust. Lee County Conservation Director Heather Huebner said the Lee County Board of Supervisors has pledged to be the last money in for the project.
Another grant is still in the works – the Federal Recreational Trail Program. LCCB also applied for – but did not receive – the Wellmark Grant.
