The Sioux County Board of Supervisors at its Oct. 11 meeting approved its version of a 28E agreement with Sioux Center and Orange City to set the foundations for the management of a proposed recreation trail between the two cities.
The agreement outlines the management of the trail and its funding, among other things, as work continues to secure agreements with landowners for use of their land along the proposed trail route.
Sioux Center City Council approved the 28E agreement at its Oct. 3 meeting, while the Orange City Council had it up for final approval at its Oct. 17 meeting.
The 28E agreement gives the trail a name: the Northwest Iowa Explorer Trail, which connects Sandy Hollow Recreation Area and Orange City.
