SHINGOBEE TWP, MN, (July 21, 2022) - A 63-year-old Iowa woman was injured by a vehicle that hit her while she was riding a bicycle Thursday afternoon in Shingobee Township, Cass County.
A 63-year-old Iowa woman was injured by a vehicle that hit her while she was riding a bicycle Thursday afternoon in Shingobee Township.
Barbara Ellen Gartner, a resident of Iowa City, and another unidentified person were riding on bicycles pedaling eastbound on the Heartland Bike Trail. At the same time, a Chevrolet Tahoe was traveling northbound on 6th Lake Road, according to the state patrol.
The Chevrolet struck Gartner at the intersection around 4:51 p.m. She suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment.
This is still an active investigation, and there are no additional details available at the moment.
