The Garmin Gravel Worlds recently announced that they will be welcoming 1,000 women to the event as participants and volunteers. Director of Operations and Marketing Jason Strohbehn talks with Dave Mable on the Bike Talk with Dave podcast about how that goal came to be, and what it means to reach it.

The Garmin Gravel Worlds gravel races, on August 19-20, 2022 in Lincoln, Nebraska, began in 2008 as the Good Life Gravel Adventure Ride by a regular on the TransIowa start line Cory 'Cornbread' Godfrey. Godfrey wanted to create a welcoming event from the very beginning.

"A diverse community united together to celebrate, support and encourage each other while challenging ourselves on the beautiful backroads of rural Nebraska,” said Godfrey of the events, now offering a 50K, 75-mile, 150-mile, 50K gravel run and the Double; a combination of the run and 150-mile ride.

The Garmin Gravel Worlds attracts more than 2,500 riders from around the world, and this year will welcome more than 1,000 women cyclists and volunteers. Jason Strohbehn and the rest of the Gravel Worlds team worked hard on this ambitious goal and are exited to host them and the rest of the Gravel Worlds community on August 19-20, 2022 in Lincoln, Nebraska.
