A person riding a bicycle was hospitalized on Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a car in Cedar Rapids, according to officials.
At around 12:09 p.m. the Cedar Rapids Police Department said it was sent to a report of the incident at the intersection of Third Avenue and 10th Street Southeast. Officials said that the bicyclist was riding east on Third Avenue SE when the collision with a vehicle driving on 10th Street SE took place.
The person on the bicycle was taken to a local hospital for what officers described as non-life-threatening injuries.
Officials said the incident was not a hit-and-run. The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene.
