Recently the City of Sioux Center purchased three plots of land to expand their trails and parks.
Two of those plots are adjacent and already have plans. They are located at the intersection of 9th Street and 2nd Avenue SW, just across the street from Tower Fields.
Officials say the land will be used to start a trail, making the Walmart, located at 255 16th St. SW, more accessible and avoiding the highway.
The other plot is located at 539 First Avenue NE, near Central Park. The city already owns the plot next to this plot that connects to the park.
