Repairs to a Des Moines recreational trial are forcing cyclists, runners and walkers to take detours.
Des Moines’ Meredith Trail closed Tuesday for months of repairs.
The Des Moines Parks and Recreation Department announced that the trail closed between Southwest 9th Street and Southwest 2nd Street bridges.During the closure, crews will add heavy rocks to stabilize the eroding Racoon Riverbank and prevent water from washing the ground away.
