Erik's Bike Board Ski is rebranding Rasmussen Bicycle Shop — better known as Rassy's — as an Erik's store and re-opening it in a new building next Friday. Erik's, which has 30 locations,
bought Rassy's in 2018.
The city of West Des Moines purchased the current Rassy's location as part of its plansto widen Grand Avenue beginning this spring. This inspired Erik's to build a new, larger location. The new store has triple the sales floor area, allowing it to stock skis, snowboards and other winter gear along with bikes.
The store features a second-floor mezzanine with bike maintenance services.
