This Ghost Bike was installed for Ellen Bengtson who was killed on Sunday August 22nd near Charles City.
Ellen was 28 years young and moved to Iowa to pursue a carreer at Cambrex Charles City Inc as an environmental engineer after having earned her Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering from Yale University and her Master’s Degree in chemical engineering from Columbia University in New York.
Ellen played piano and double bass and was a member of the Charles City Community Chamber Orchestra. She was an active member of Bethany Alliance Church and a Charles City Rotarian. Ellen was an outdoor enthusiast.
