After lengthy delays, Storm Lake city officials say they will proceed this spring with a plan to begin painting bike trails along the sides of some of the streets - a project that was originally proposed for spring of 2017 as an option to expensive off-street trail construction.
Everything from staff shortages to weather to concerns from the state over the width of the streets has set the work back.
City officials are also talking with Storm Lake United about the possibility of creating a map/brochure of the route for visitors (which could be combined with a map of many tree carving sculptures in the city) and possibly a video of a ride over the route using a Go Pro camera.
