An investigation to determine whether any criminal charges should be filed in a vehicle-bicycle collision that killed a cyclist Sunday could take over a month, said Sgt. Nathan Ludwig, spokesman for Iowa State Patrol.

On Sunday, Wayne Ezell, 72, of Jacksonville, Fla., was killed when a pickup truck hit him from behind on U.S. Highway 34, near Glenwood. Ezell was participating inthe Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa.

It will be up to the county attorney to decide how to move forward, Ludwig said.

James Foley, 67, of Jacksonville, Fla., was hit and dragged by a truck on Sunday.
