MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa A group of people are honoring a man who died while touring the state during RAGBRAI last year by naming a bridge and bike path in Marshalltown after him. Neighbors and former co-workers of Bob Guthrie are naming a renovated bridge and bike path after the Marshalltown man. Guthrie died in his sleep just before the last leg of the 2003 Register's Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa. The bridge is currently a railroad trestle and needs to be renovated before it is opened as part of the bike path. The group plans to raise funds by accepting donations and selling memorial plaques that would be placed at the bridge. Source: http://www.whotv.com/Global/story.asp?S=2120436
