The trial for the man accused of hitting and killing a popular Ankeny cyclist with his car will be in court on Monday.

Police say 31-year-old Jonathan Leyva’s blood alcohol content was nearly three times the legal limit when he hit 41-year-old Wade Franck of Ankeny along Grand Avenue in August.

Leyva is charged with homicide by OWI and driving with a suspended license. Leyva plead not guilty in September.

He is set to appear in court Monday at 9 a.m.
